Description

The 14-3-3 protein beta/alpha, encoded by the YWHAB gene, is a conserved adapter protein expressed across human tissues that recognizes phosphorylated serine and threonine motifs on a broad range of binding partners. Members of the 14-3-3 family regulate apoptosis, mitogenic signaling, cell cycle checkpoints, and cytoskeletal dynamics, and altered beta/alpha expression has been reported in studies of neurodegeneration and several tumor types. This Assay Genie kit provides a quantitative immunoassay for measuring endogenous human 14-3-3 beta/alpha, with an absorbance-based readout compatible with standard microplate readers.

Intended research uses include:

  • Studies of 14-3-3 mediated signal transduction and phosphoserine/threonine recognition
  • Apoptosis and cell cycle regulation investigations in human cell models
  • Biomarker research in neuronal injury and neurodegenerative disease contexts
  • Cancer biology studies where YWHAB expression has been linked to proliferation and survival phenotypes

Practical handling notes: store kit components refrigerated and protect from light until first use; aliquot working reagents and freeze for long-term stability as directed by the insert. The microplate-based format supports multiple standard curves and sample replicates per run. All reagents are supplied for research use only and are not intended for diagnostic procedures.
