The Assay Genie Human XYLT1 ELISA Kit enables quantitative measurement of xylosyltransferase 1 in human research samples, supporting studies of proteoglycan biosynthesis, glycosaminoglycan metabolism, and connective tissue biology. XYLT1 catalyzes the rate-limiting transfer of xylose to serine residues on core proteins, an initiating step in chondroitin sulfate and heparan sulfate assembly. Altered XYLT1 activity has been investigated in systemic sclerosis, idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, and Desbuquois dysplasia, an autosomal-recessive skeletal disorder linked to XYLT1 loss-of-function variants.

The assay is supplied as a complete reagent set including a pre-coated microplate, biotinylated detection antibody, streptavidin-HRP conjugate, lyophilized standards, and TMB substrate, with sample volume of 100 µL per well recommended. Reconstituted reagents should be refrigerated and protected from light; unopened kits are shipped on blue ice.
