Quantitative measurement of XRN1 in human specimens using a 96 Assays immunoassay from Assay Genie. XRN1 (5'-3' exoribonuclease 1) is a ~175 kDa cytoplasmic enzyme, historically known as p175, that catalyzes the major pathway of eukaryotic mRNA decay and processes intermediates generated after deadenylation and decapping. The kit supports research into post-transcriptional gene regulation, nonsense-mediated decay, stress granule dynamics, and antiviral host responses, where many positive-sense RNA viruses produce subgenomic flaviviral RNA (sfRNA) structures that stall XRN1 to subvert cellular mRNA turnover. Investigations of XRN1 function extend to autophagy regulation and to cancer biology, where altered XRN1 expression has been linked to multiple tumor types in published studies. The kit provides a complete solution for studies of RNA quality control, viral pathogenesis, and mRNA processing mechanisms in translational and basic research settings. For research use only.
