XRCC5/Ku80 protein concentrations in human specimens can be measured quantitatively with this immunoassay kit from Assay Genie. Ku80 forms a heterodimer with Ku70 (XRCC6), binds broken DNA ends, and recruits the DNA-PK catalytic subunit to initiate non-homologous end joining (NHEJ), the principal pathway for repairing DNA double-strand breaks. Altered Ku80 levels are reported in studies of tumor radiosensitivity, genomic instability, and immune cell development involving V(D)J recombination.

The kit is supplied as a complete pack of components, including pre-coated plate strips, biotinylated detection antibody, standard calibrators, streptavidin conjugate, wash buffer, substrate solution, and stop reagent. Plates follow a strip-format configuration that lets researchers run partial batches as required.
