Mammalian DNA double-strand break repair relies heavily on the non-homologous end joining (NHEJ) pathway, in which the Ku70 protein, encoded by the XRCC6 gene, binds and protects broken DNA ends before they are religated. This quantitative immunoassay from Assay Genie is configured for research use only and is intended to measure human XRCC6 protein in laboratory samples including tissue homogenates and cell lysates.

The kit is supplied as a 96-assay configuration with all reagents required to complete the procedure. Prepared standards and samples are added to antibody-coated wells, and the workflow uses a biotinylated detection antibody followed by streptavidin-HRP to generate a measurable signal proportional to XRCC6 concentration. The enzymatic reaction is terminated with an acidic stop solution and absorbance is recorded on a standard microplate reader.

Each pack provides sufficient materials for 96 individual determinations, and components are shipped on cold packs and should be stored refrigerated upon arrival to preserve reagent activity. Unopened kits remain stable through the expiration date printed on the label when handled according to the enclosed manual.

Typical research applications include studies of DNA damage response, radiobiology, cancer biology, and investigations into double-strand break repair mechanisms, particularly in contexts where altered Ku70 expression has been implicated in tumor radiosensitivity, chemoresistance, or genomic instability. The kit is for research use only and is not intended for diagnostic or clinical procedures.
