The Human WDFY3 ELISA Kit from Assay Genie is built around WD Repeat And FYVE Domain Containing 3, also known as ALFY (Autophagy-Linked FYVE Protein). WDFY3 is a large multi-domain scaffolding factor that recruits p62/SQSTM1-bound ubiquitinated aggregates to the phagophore and links them to the ATG12–ATG5–ATG16L1 conjugation machinery, driving selective macroautophagy and aggrephagy. Investigators working on neurodegenerative disease models, frontotemporal dementia, ALS, and aggregate-clearance biology use WDFY3 measurements in human clinical specimens as a translational readout of autophagic activity.
