Human VWF (Von Willebrand Factor) ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie is designed for the accurate detection of Von Willebrand Factor (VWF) levels in human serum, plasma, cell culture supernatants, cell or tissue lysates, and other liquid samples. VWF is a key glycoprotein involved in blood clotting and platelet adhesion, playing a critical role in hemostasis, with dysfunctions associated with bleeding disorders such as Von Willebrand Disease.

The assay uses a double-antibody sandwich format with colorimetric detection. Sensitivity is 0.938 ng/mL and the detection range is 1.563-100 ng/mL (2500ng=1U). Reported linearity for serum (n=5) is 86-102% at 1:2, 85-103% at 1:4, and 86-103% at 1:8; for EDTA plasma (n=5), 87-95%, 90-96%, and 84-101% at the same dilutions; and for heparin plasma (n=5), 82-96%, 85-93%, and 82-99%. Recovery averages are 95% for serum (range 86-105%), 94% for EDTA plasma (range 92-97%), and 98% for heparin plasma (range 92-105%).

The procedure involves equilibrating reagents, primary incubation at 37°C for 90 minutes, biotin-labelled detection antibody incubation at 37°C for 60 minutes, HRP-Streptavidin binding at 37°C for 30 minutes, TMB colour development in the dark for 10-20 minutes, and absorbance measurement at 450 nm after stop solution addition. The kit is stored at 2-8°C for 12 months and is intended for research use in cardiovascular studies.
