Human von Willebrand factor (VWF) ELISA Kit

Assay Genie's Sandwich ELISA Kit is designed for the precise quantification of von Willebrand factor (VWF) in human samples and is intended for research use only. The assay is reactive with human VWF and has been validated for serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids, with specificity for both natural and recombinant human VWF. Detection is colorimetric.

The assay delivers quantitative measurement across a detection range of 3.12–200 ng/mL with a sensitivity of 1.58 ng/mL. Reported precision is 4.4% intra-assay CV and 7.9% inter-assay CV. Linearity has been characterised across serial dilutions of serum (95–115%), EDTA plasma (90–118%) and heparin plasma (84–118%), while spike-and-recovery averages 92% for serum and 94% for plasma.

Von Willebrand factor is a multimeric glycoprotein that bridges sub-endothelial collagen matrix to the platelet-surface receptor complex GPIb-IX-V at sites of vascular injury, and also acts as a circulating chaperone for coagulation factor VIII, stabilising its heterodimeric structure and protecting it from premature clearance.
