Description

A sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative detection of human Vitamin K epoxide reductase complex subunit 1 (VKORC1). The assay is validated for use with human serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants, and other biological fluids, and is specific for natural and recombinant human VKORC1.

VKORC1 is the catalytic subunit of the vitamin K epoxide reductase (VKOR) complex, which reduces inactive vitamin K 2,3-epoxide to active vitamin K — a cofactor required for gamma-carboxylation of clotting factors and for normal blood coagulation. Variation in VKORC1 is linked to differences in warfarin response, making it a relevant biomarker for personalised anticoagulant therapy. The kit uses a colorimetric ELISA detection method and reports a detection range of 78-5000 pg/mL with a sensitivity of 34 pg/mL. Precision is reported as an intra-assay CV of 4.6% and an inter-assay CV of 7.4%. Recovery has been validated at 101% (range 95-107%) for serum and 103% (range 97-109%) for plasma. The target corresponds to UniProt accession Q9BQB6 and is localised to the endoplasmic reticulum membrane as a multi-pass membrane protein. The kit is intended for research use only.
