Human Vitamin D3 receptor (VDR) ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this Sandwich ELISA Kit is designed for detecting and measuring levels of human Vitamin D3 receptor (VDR) in research samples. The assay is reactive with human specimens and is validated for serum and plasma, as well as tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. Detection is by ELISA with a reported range of 0.625-40ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.16ng/mL. The target is also known as 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D3 receptor, Nuclear receptor subfamily 1 group I member 1 and NR1I1.

Reported performance characteristics include an intra-assay CV of 5.8% and inter-assay CV of 9.4%. Recovery in serum averages 100% (range 94-106%) and in plasma averages 102% (range 96-108%). The kit recognises natural and recombinant human VDR, with the target referenced under UniProt ID P11473 and localised to the nucleus.

VDR functions as a nuclear hormone receptor and transcription factor that mediates the action of vitamin D3 by controlling expression of hormone-sensitive genes, playing a central role in calcium homeostasis. Dysregulation of VDR has been linked to bone disorders, autoimmune diseases and cancer, and the kit is intended for research use only, including studies within the cancer research area.
