Human Vimentin (VIM) ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie intended for the quantitative measurement of human vimentin (VIM) in serum and plasma. The manufacturer extends compatible sample types to tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants and other biological fluids. Detection is colorimetric.

The assay reports a detection range of 0.312-20ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.078ng/mL. Intra-assay CV is given as 4.4% and inter-assay CV as 8.6%. Linearity was assessed in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma across dilution series from 1:2 to 1:16. Specificity covers natural and recombinant human vimentin. Recovery in serum averages 95% (range 89-101%) and in plasma averages 97% (range 91-103%). The kit is supplied for research use only.

Vimentin is a type III intermediate filament protein that contributes to maintenance of cell shape and cytoplasmic integrity and is involved in cell migration and tissue repair. Abnormal regulation has been linked to cancer, fibrosis and inflammation, supporting its use as a potential biomarker in research applications.
