Human Vesicular acetylcholine transporter (SLC18A3) ELISA Kit

The assay employs a colorimetric detection method and is reactive with human specimens, making it relevant to studies of cholinergic neurotransmission and neurological disorders such as Alzheimer's disease and Parkinson's disease, in which dysregulation of SLC18A3 has been reported.

SLC18A3, also referred to as VAChT or VACHT, is a multi-pass membrane protein that transports acetylcholine into synaptic vesicles. The kit detects both natural and recombinant human SLC18A3 and is validated for serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants and other biological fluids. Reported intra-assay CV is 5.4% and inter-assay CV is 7.7%.

According to the manufacturer's specifications, the detection range is 0.312-20 ng/mL and the sensitivity is 0.164 ng/mL. Recovery testing produced an average of 96% (range 90-102%) in serum and 98% (range 92-104%) in plasma. Linearity was demonstrated across serial dilutions for serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma.
