Human Very low-density lipoprotein receptor (VLDLR) ELISA Kit

This sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie is designed for the quantitative detection of Human Very low-density lipoprotein receptor (VLDLR) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatant and other biological fluids. The assay uses a colorimetric detection method, is reactive with human samples and is supplied for research use only within the cardiovascular research area.

Performance characteristics include a detection range of 0.78-50ng/mL, a sensitivity of 0.23ng/mL, an intra-assay CV of 3.0% and an inter-assay CV of 7.2%. Linearity has been evaluated by serial dilution in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma, and recovery was determined at an average of 98% (range 92-104%) for serum and 100% (range 94-106%) for plasma. The kit recognises natural and recombinant human VLDLR (also referred to as VLDL receptor).

VLDLR is a member of the LDL receptor family that binds VLDL and transports it into cells by endocytosis after receptor-ligand complexes cluster into clathrin-coated pits. It also binds the extracellular matrix protein Reelin, and interacts with DAB1, SNX17 and PCSK9; binding to Reelin induces tyrosine phosphorylation of Dab1 and modulation of Tau phosphorylation, linking VLDLR to lipid metabolism and to conditions such as atherosclerosis, obesity and diabetes.
