Human VE-Cadherin/CDH5 ELISA Kit

Assay Genie's quantitative immunoassay enables researchers to measure human Vascular Endothelial Cadherin (VE-Cadherin, also called CDH5) in biological specimens. VE-Cadherin is a calcium-dependent transmembrane glycoprotein that forms the core of adherens junctions between vascular endothelial cells, where it controls paracellular permeability, contact inhibition of growth, and the mechanical coupling that maintains monolayer integrity. Because CDH5 is largely endothelial-restricted, circulating levels serve as an indicator of endothelial activation and junctional disruption in studies of atherosclerosis, sepsis, diabetic retinopathy, preeclampsia, tumor neovascularization, and pulmonary hypertension.

Soluble CDH5 fragments are released when the endothelial barrier is challenged by inflammatory cytokines, shear stress, or angiogenic signaling, making quantitative measurement valuable for tracking microvascular injury and therapeutic response in both in vitro and in vivo research models. The kit is intended for research use only and is configured for use with human samples. Each kit supports 96 Assays under standard laboratory protocols, and includes the capture and detection reagents, standard, and buffer components required for reproducible measurement.
