Description

Assay Genie's sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the quantitative measurement of human Vasodilator-stimulated phosphoprotein (VASP) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The assay uses a colorimetric detection method and is intended for research use only, with reactivity confirmed against human samples. Specificity has been demonstrated for both natural and recombinant human VASP (UniProt P50552), supporting studies in signal transduction and cytoskeletal regulation.

Reported performance includes a detection range of 0.156-10 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.056 ng/mL, with an intra-assay CV of 4.8% and an inter-assay CV of 7.6%. Linearity in serum (N=5) spans 89-99% to 108-119% across dilutions from 1:2 to 1:16; EDTA plasma spans 81-94% to 98-108%; and heparin plasma spans 91-104% to 113-123%. Recovery averages 95% (range 89-101%) for serum and 97% (range 91-103%) for plasma.

VASP is an actin-associated protein that promotes filament elongation, protects the barbed end of growing actin filaments against capping, and is implicated in cell motility, adhesion, platelet activation and axon guidance. Dysregulation of VASP has been linked to cancer, cardiovascular diseases and neurological disorders. Storage conditions vary by component (with some stored at -20°C and others at 4°C); please see kit components for exact storage details.
