Vasodilator-Stimulated Phosphoprotein (VASP) is a 46 kDa actin-associated regulatory protein of the Ena/VASP family that is phosphorylated at Ser157 and Ser239 by cAMP- and cGMP-dependent protein kinases, linking cyclic-nucleotide signalling to actin filament remodelling. The Assay Genie Human VASP ELISA Kit is a quantitative two-antibody immunoassay supplied as a 96-assay microplate kit with a colorimetric read-out intended for research use only, and it measures total VASP protein in human cell lysates, tissue homogenates, and similar research sample matrices. Because platelets and vascular smooth muscle express particularly high levels of VASP, the assay is widely used in studies of P2Y12 receptor signalling, antiplatelet pharmacology with agents such as clopidogrel, prasugrel, ticagrelor, and cangrelor, cytoskeletal dynamics, and endothelial function. The kit fits workflows in which phosphorylated-VASP readouts obtained by flow cytometry or western blot are normalized back to total VASP, providing a quantitative reference for cAMP- and cGMP-mediated signalling under both basal and stimulated conditions.
