Human Vasoactive Intestinal Peptide (VIP) ELISA Kit

Vasoactive Intestinal Peptide (VIP) is a 28-amino acid neuropeptide secreted by enteric neurons, pancreatic islet cells, and activated lymphocytes, where it regulates smooth muscle relaxation, vasodilation, gastric acid secretion, and the Th1/Th2 balance of mucosal immune responses. Circulating VIP concentrations are routinely profiled in studies of inflammatory bowel disease, cystic fibrosis, sepsis, neurodegenerative disorders, and gut-brain axis signalling.

Supplied by Assay Genie as a competitive immunoassay, the kit provides a pre-coated 96-well microplate, lyophilised VIP standards spanning a calibration curve of 15.6 to 1000 pg/mL, a biotinylated detection antibody, streptavidin-HRP conjugate, wash buffer concentrate, TMB substrate, and stop solution. The minimum detectable concentration is approximately 5 pg/mL, and the protocol uses 50 uL of sample per well in duplicate, with absorbance read at 450 nm against a 570 nm reference. Reconstituted standards and unused strips should be stored frozen, while the remaining kit components are kept refrigerated at 2 to 8 degrees C until first use. Intended for research use only.
