Human Uroporphyrinogen Decarboxylase (UROD) ELISA Kit

The UROD enzyme immunoassay from Assay Genie provides quantitative measurement of human Uroporphyrinogen Decarboxylase in tissue homogenate and other research sample preparations. UROD catalyzes the fifth enzymatic step of heme biosynthesis, decarboxylating uroporphyrinogen III to coproporphyrinogen III by sequentially removing four acetate groups from the tetrapyrrole ring. Reduced activity of this cytosolic enzyme underlies Porphyria Cutanea Tarda and the more severe hepatoerythropoietic porphyria, supporting dermatology, hepatology, and inherited metabolic disease research. The microplate-based ELISA kit ships with all buffers, standards, and conjugate reagents required to run the assay, and the signal develops through a chromogenic substrate read on a standard plate reader.
