Human Urocortin-3 (UCN3) ELISA Kit

A colorimetric sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative detection of human Urocortin-3 (UCN3), also known as Stresscopin, Urocortin III, Ucn III or SPC. The assay is reactive with human samples and has been validated for use with serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids, with specificity for natural and recombinant human Urocortin-3.

The kit delivers a detection range of 0.156–10 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.056 ng/mL. Reported precision values are 4.3% intra-assay CV and 7.5% inter-assay CV. Spike-and-recovery performance is given as 93% (range 87–99%) for serum and 95% (range 89–101%) for plasma.

Urocortin-3 is described as a secreted peptide that suppresses food intake, delays gastric emptying and decreases heat-induced edema, and may act as an endogenous ligand for maintaining homeostasis after stress. The product is for research use only and is intended for studies in the area of metabolism.
