Human Urea transporter 1 (SLC14A1) ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative measurement of human urea transporter 1, the membrane transporter encoded by the SLC14A1 gene. The kit is for research use only and is reactive with human samples, validated for serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants and other biological fluids.

Detection is colorimetric, with a detection range of 0.156-10ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.15ng/mL. Reported precision values are an intra-assay CV of 5.2% and an inter-assay CV of 9.6%. Specificity covers natural and recombinant human urea transporter 1. Recovery in serum averages 102% (range 96-108%) and in plasma averages 104% (range 98-110%).

Urea transporter 1 functions as a urea channel that facilitates transmembrane urea transport down a concentration gradient, playing an important role in the kidney medulla collecting ducts by allowing rapid equilibration between the lumen and interstitium, and also mediates urea transport across erythrocyte membranes.
