UCK1 (Uridine-Cytidine Kinase 1) is a pyrimidine salvage pathway enzyme that catalyzes the phosphorylation of uridine and cytidine, converting them to their monophosphate forms. This phosphorylation step is central to nucleotide biosynthesis and is critical for the intracellular activation of several nucleoside analog prodrugs used in cancer chemotherapy, including 5-fluorouracil and related antimetabolites. Aberrant UCK1 expression has been documented in a range of malignancies and is increasingly studied as a biomarker for tumor metabolism and chemotherapy responsiveness.

The Assay Genie Human UCK1 ELISA Kit provides researchers with a quantitative tool to measure UCK1 protein levels in human biological specimens. Built around a microplate format, the kit supports medium-throughput screening and is supplied as a complete kit containing all reagents required to perform the assay. The colorimetric readout enables straightforward quantification using a standard microplate reader commonly available in immunology and molecular biology laboratories. With a capacity of 96 Assays per kit, the product is well suited for both small pilot studies and larger screening campaigns.

This kit is intended for research use only and is appropriate for studies exploring pyrimidine metabolism, cancer cell biology, drug resistance mechanisms, and biomarker discovery. Researchers investigating nucleoside analog metabolism or screening patient-derived samples for UCK1 expression can incorporate this kit into workflows that include sample preparation, assay execution, and downstream data analysis. Each kit ships with a detailed protocol to support reproducibility across runs and operators.
