Human Ubiquitin-protein ligase E3A (UBE3A) ELISA Kit

Assay Genie provides a sandwich-format ELISA kit for the quantitative measurement of human Ubiquitin-protein ligase E3A (UBE3A), an E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase that accepts ubiquitin from an E2 conjugating enzyme and transfers it to substrates, playing key roles in protein degradation and cellular regulation. The kit uses colorimetric detection and is validated for use with human samples — including serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants, and other biological fluids — with specificity for natural and recombinant human UBE3A. It is intended for research use only, within the neurosciences research area, where UBE3A is studied for its links to Angelman syndrome and as a potential biomarker in various cancers.

Quoted performance characteristics from the manufacturer include a detection range of 0.312–20 ng/mL, a sensitivity of 0.1 ng/mL, an intra-assay CV of 6.1%, and an inter-assay CV of 10.1%. Linearity was assessed in serum, EDTA plasma, and heparin plasma at dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8, and 1:16 (N=5 per matrix). Recovery averaged 95% (range 89–101%) for serum and 97% (range 91–103%) for plasma. UBE3A is localised to the nucleus and cytoplasm, and the protein (UniProt Q05086) has a reported molecular weight of 100,102 Da.
