Human Ubiquitin-like protein ATG12 (ATG12) ELISA Kit

A high-quality Sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie designed for the accurate detection of Ubiquitin-like protein ATG12 levels in human serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. ATG12 is a key ubiquitin-like protein involved in autophagy vesicles formation, where it conjugates with ATG5 through an E1-like (ATG7) and E2-like (ATG10) enzyme system. The ATG12-ATG5 conjugate functions as an E3-like enzyme required for lipidation of ATG8 family proteins and their association with vesicle membranes, and it also negatively regulates the innate antiviral immune response by interacting with RARRES3 and MAVS.

The kit detects natural and recombinant human Ubiquitin-like protein ATG12 with a detection range of 0.156-10ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.078ng/mL. Performance is characterised by an Intra CV of 7.1% and an Inter CV of 9.7%. Linearity has been validated in serum (97-107%, 88-97%, 103-115%, 102-112%), EDTA plasma (105-117%, 92-104%, 98-107%, 80-90%) and heparin plasma (106-116%, 110-122%, 112-120%, 101-112%) at dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16. Average recovery is 104% in serum (range 98-110%) and 106% in plasma (range 100-112%).

ATG12 is implicated in cancer research and is located in the cytoplasm and at the preautophagosomal structure membrane as a peripheral membrane protein. The UniProt accession is O94817, with a molecular weight of 15kDa. For research use only.
