Description

Manufactured by Assay Genie, this Sandwich ELISA Kit is designed for the accurate quantitative measurement of human Ubiquitin carboxyl-terminal hydrolase isozyme L1 (UCHL1) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. Also referred to by the synonyms Neuron cytoplasmic protein 9.5, PGP 9.5, Ubiquitin thioesterase L1, PGP9.5 and UCH-L1, UCHL1 is a thiol protease that regulates ubiquitin-dependent protein degradation and has been implicated as a biomarker in Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease and cancer.

The assay delivers a detection range of 78-5000pg/mL with a sensitivity of 34pg/mL, and is calibrated for use with natural and recombinant human UCHL1. Reported precision values are an Intra CV of 5.1% and Inter CV of 6.9%. Linearity has been demonstrated in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma across dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16. Recovery ranges are 80-89% for serum (average 83%) and 80-91% for plasma (average 85%). UCHL1 is localised in the cytoplasm and endoplasmic reticulum membrane, with approximately 30% of total UCHL1 associated with membranes in brain.

Intended for research use only, the kit is positioned within the Neurosciences research area and is suited to investigations of UCHL1 in disease pathogenesis and progression.
