Description

This Sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie is designed for the accurate quantification of human Tumor necrosis factor receptor superfamily member 11B (TNFRSF11B), also referred to as Osteoprotegerin (OPG), Osteoclastogenesis inhibitory factor (OCIF), or TR1. The assay uses a colorimetric detection method and is intended for research use only.

TNFRSF11B is a key regulator of bone metabolism. It acts as a decoy receptor for TNFSF11/RANKL, neutralizing its function in osteoclastogenesis and inhibiting osteoclast activation. Bone homeostasis depends on the local ratio between TNFSF11 and TNFRSF11B. The protein is secreted, forms a homodimer, and may also act as a decoy receptor for TNFSF10/TRAIL, with potential roles in preventing arterial calcification. Dysregulation has been implicated in bone-related diseases such as osteoporosis, osteopetrosis, and Paget's disease, making it a valuable biomarker for research into these disorders.

The kit has a detection range of 0.156–10ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.039ng/mL. It is suitable for serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates, and other biological fluids, with specificity for natural and recombinant human TNFRSF11B. Reported intra-assay precision is 4.3% (CV) and inter-assay precision is 7.9% (CV). Recovery averages 102% in serum (range 96–108%) and 104% in plasma (range 98–110%). Linearity has been evaluated in serum, EDTA plasma, and heparin plasma across dilutions from 1:2 to 1:16.
