Detection uses a colorimetric method with reactivity for human samples including serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates, and other biological fluids. Specificity is stated for natural and recombinant human TNFSF8. Reported performance characteristics include a detection range of 15.6-1000pg/mL, sensitivity of 5.4pg/mL, intra-assay CV of 5.8%, and inter-assay CV of 10.1%. Recovery averages 103% for serum (range 97-109%) and 105% for plasma (range 99-111%). Linearity across dilutions is 88-98% to 89-99% for serum, 106-117% to 113-123% for EDTA plasma, and 97-110% to 104-114% for heparin plasma.

TNFSF8 is a cytokine that binds to TNFRSF8/CD30 and induces proliferation of T-cells. The protein functions as a homotrimer and is localised as a single-pass type II membrane protein. The product is for research use only.
