From Assay Genie, this Sandwich ELISA Kit is designed for the precise measurement of human Tumor necrosis factor ligand superfamily member 10 (TNFSF10), also known as TRAIL (TNF-related apoptosis-inducing ligand), in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants and other biological fluids. TNFSF10 is a cytokine that plays a vital role in apoptosis, the programmed cell death process, and has been implicated in cancer, autoimmune disorders, and infectious diseases.

The kit uses a colorimetric ELISA detection method with a detection range of 46.9-3000pg/mL and a sensitivity of 21pg/mL. Intra-assay CV is 5.3% and inter-assay CV is 9.5%. Linearity in serum (N=5) ranges from 99-109% to 110-118% across dilutions 1:2 to 1:16; EDTA plasma ranges from 91-101% to 113-123%; heparin plasma ranges from 90-100% to 110-119%. Recovery in serum averages 96% (range 90-102%) and in plasma averages 98% (range 92-104%). The kit shows specificity for natural and recombinant human TNFSF10.

TNFSF10 is a homotrimeric single-pass type II membrane protein that functions as a cytokine binding to TNFRSF10A/TRAILR1, TNFRSF10B/TRAILR2, TNFRSF10C/TRAILR3, TNFRSF10D/TRAILR4 and possibly TNFRSF11B/OPG to induce apoptosis. Its activity may be modulated by binding to the decoy receptors TNFRSF10C/TRAILR3, TNFRSF10D/TRAILR4 and TNFRSF11B/OPG. Synonyms include Apo-2 ligand, Apo-2L, Protein TRAIL, CD253, APO2L, and TRAIL.
