The TSTA3 protein, also known as GDP-L-fucose synthase, is a cytosolic NADPH-dependent oxidoreductase encoded by the TSTA3 gene on chromosome 8q24.3. It catalyzes the two-step reduction of GDP-4-keto-6-deoxy-D-mannose to GDP-L-fucose, the activated nucleotide sugar donor used by fucosyltransferases to modify cell surface glycoproteins and selectin ligands. This Assay Genie kit provides the reagents needed to quantitatively measure human TSTA3 levels in laboratory samples.

TSTA3 is widely studied in oncology research, where elevated expression has been linked to tumor proliferation and migration in gastric, colorectal, and breast cancer models. The enzyme also contributes to selectin ligand biosynthesis and leukocyte rolling, making it relevant to studies of inflammation, immune cell trafficking, and glycobiology. Functional studies suggest TSTA3 may modulate epithelial-mesenchymal transition markers and tumor stem cell populations.

Each kit is supplied with a pre-coated microplate, biotinylated detection antibody, recombinant protein standards, streptavidin-HRP conjugate, wash buffer, chromogenic substrate solution, and stop reagent in quantities sufficient for 96 individual determinations. Unopened kits should be refrigerated at 4 degrees C; reconstituted standards are best stored frozen at -20 degrees C in single-use aliquots to limit freeze-thaw cycles. Intended for research use only.
