Human Tryptophan 5-hydroxylase 2 (TPH2) ELISA Kit

This Sandwich ELISA Kit from Assay Genie is designed for the quantitative measurement of human Tryptophan 5-hydroxylase 2 (TPH2) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids, with reactivity confirmed for human samples.

The assay is run as a colorimetric sandwich ELISA with a reported detection range of 0.312-20ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.18ng/mL. Precision figures include an intra-assay CV of 4.1% and an inter-assay CV of 7.0%. Specificity is stated for natural and recombinant human TPH2. Linearity across dilutions 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 is reported as 95-105%, 102-111%, 85-95% and 86-96% in serum (N=5), with parallel ranges for EDTA and heparin plasma. Recovery is reported as 85% (range 80-91%) in serum and 87% (range 81-93%) in plasma.

TPH2 is the rate-limiting enzyme in the biosynthesis of serotonin, catalysing the biopterin-dependent monooxygenation of tryptophan to 5-hydroxytryptophan, and its dysregulation has been linked in the literature to psychiatric disorders such as depression, anxiety and schizophrenia.
