Human Troponin I, slow skeletal muscle (TNNI1) ELISA Kit

A colorimetric sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie, intended for research use only, this kit enables detection of human Troponin I, slow skeletal muscle (TNNI1), also known as Troponin I, slow-twitch isoform. It is reactive with human samples and accepts serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The assay is specific for natural and recombinant human Troponin I, slow skeletal muscle, and the corresponding UniProt entry is P19237.

Performance characteristics include a detection range of 39-2500pg/mL and a sensitivity of 10pg/mL. Intra-assay CV is 4.4% and inter-assay CV is 7.1%. Linearity has been demonstrated for serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma across dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 (N=5). Recovery averages 91% for serum (range 85-97%) and 93% for plasma (range 87-99%). The kit supports work in the signal transduction research area.

Troponin I is the inhibitory subunit of the troponin complex, conferring calcium sensitivity to striated muscle actomyosin ATPase activity, and the encoded protein binds actin and tropomyosin to regulate muscle contraction and relaxation. As such, TNNI1 serves as a biomarker of interest in studies of skeletal muscle health, including muscular dystrophy, myopathies and muscle injury.
