Fast-twitch skeletal muscle contraction depends on the calcium-binding troponin C isoform encoded by TNNC2, a paralog of the cardiac isoform TNNC3 located at human chromosome 20q13.12. Recessive mutations in TNNC2 cause nemaline myopathy type 4 (NEM4), and variants have also been reported in distal arthrogryposis, making TNNC2 protein quantitation a relevant biomarker for studies of neuromuscular disease, exercise-induced myofiber stress, and muscle-fiber isoform biology.

The Assay Genie kit is supplied in a 96 assays format and provides a quantitative protein measurement workflow with a colorimetric readout, calibrated for human specimens including homogenized skeletal muscle tissue and blood-derived sample types such as plasma or serum fractions. Each kit is delivered as a complete package containing the microplate, capture and detection reagents, recombinant protein standards, wash buffer, substrate, and stop solution needed to generate a standard curve for TNNC2 determination.

For research use only, this TNNC2 ELISA supports studies of fast-twitch muscle proteostasis, biomarker discovery in inflammatory myopathies, and investigation of TNNC2 expression across fiber types. Standard laboratory precautions apply: equilibrate reagents to room temperature before use, avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles of prepared standards and samples, and protect HRP-conjugated components from prolonged light exposure. Detailed performance characteristics, including standard curve dynamic range and minimum detectable dose, are documented in the lot-specific certificate of analysis accompanying each shipment.
