Description

From Assay Genie, this sandwich ELISA kit is intended for the detection of human Triggering Receptor Expressed on Myeloid Cells 2 (TREM2) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The assay uses a colorimetric detection method and is reactive with human samples. TREM2 is a receptor protein expressed on myeloid cells that plays a role in immune regulation and inflammation, and its dysregulation has been implicated in conditions such as Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, and other neurodegenerative disorders.

The kit reports a detection range of 78-5000pg/mL and a sensitivity of 31pg/ml, with an intra-assay CV of 5.3% and inter-assay CV of 9.4%. Specificity is described for natural and recombinant human TREM2, and the product is for research use only. Linearity has been demonstrated across serial dilutions in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma, while recovery has been measured at an average of 86% (range 80-92%) in serum and 88% (range 82-94%) in plasma. Functionally, TREM2 may play a role in chronic inflammation by forming a receptor signaling complex with TYROBP/DAP12 in macrophages and dendritic cells, and defects are a cause of polycystic lipomembranous osteodysplasia with sclerosing leukoencephalopathy (PLOSL, also known as Nasu-Hakola disease). UniProt reference: Q9NZC2.
