Human Trefoil Factor 3, Intestinal (TFF3) ELISA Kit

Assay Genie's Human TFF3 (Trefoil Factor 3, Intestinal) ELISA is a quantitative colorimetric immunoassay supplied in a microplate format and configured to deliver up to 96 measurements per kit. TFF3 itself is a 59-amino acid secretory peptide released mainly by intestinal goblet cells; its defining structural feature is a single P-domain (trefoil motif) held together by three conserved disulfide bonds, and its biological roles center on mucosal protection, epithelial restitution after injury, and maintenance of the intestinal mucus barrier.

The assay accepts a broad panel of human sample types, including serum samples, plasma samples, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, and cell culture supernatants, so the same kit can be used to probe TFF3 expression in cultured epithelial models, in animal tissue, and in clinical research cohorts. Reported research applications include biomarker studies in gastric and colorectal cancer, investigation of inflammatory bowel disease activity (ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease), characterization of goblet cell responses in cystic fibrosis and other mucin-deficiency states, and tracking of mucosal repair following chemical, radiation, or ischemic injury.

Detection is read on a standard microplate reader, and the kit includes pre-coated wells, detection antibody, standards, and assay buffer sufficient to generate a calibration curve for interpolating unknown samples.
