Human Trefoil factor 2 (TFF2) ELISA Kit

This sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie enables accurate quantification of the human mucosal protein Trefoil factor 2 (TFF2) across serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids, with reactivity confirmed for human samples. The kit is intended for research use only.

Reported performance includes a detection range of 78-5000pg/mL and a sensitivity of 31pg/mL, with intra-assay CV of 5.3% and inter-assay CV of 7.6%. Linearity has been demonstrated across serum (110-119%, 90-98%, 89-100%, 94-104% at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 dilutions), EDTA plasma (82-93%, 86-95%, 101-113%, 105-114%) and heparin plasma (81-91%, 112-121%, 104-113%, 102-112%). Recovery averages 96% in serum (range 90-102%) and 98% in plasma (range 92-104%).

TFF2 is a secreted protein involved in mucosal protection and repair in the gastrointestinal tract, and dysregulation of its expression has been linked to various gastrointestinal disorders, making it a valuable biomarker for studying these conditions. Functionally, the protein inhibits gastrointestinal motility and gastric acid secretion, and may serve as a structural component of gastric mucus by stabilizing glycoproteins in the mucus gel through interactions with carbohydrate side chains.
