Description

Designed for the quantitative measurement of human Transmembrane protein 158 (TMEM158), this sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie provides a reproducible method for detecting the protein in serum and plasma, and is also validated for use with tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The kit uses a colourimetric, double-antibody format suited to routine laboratory workflows.

The assay has a detection range of 0.156–10 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.045 ng/mL, with a reported intra-assay CV of 4.8% and inter-assay CV of 9.3%. Spike-and-recovery has been assessed in serum (average 91%; range 85–97%) and plasma (average 93%; range 87–99%). TMEM158 is a multi-pass transmembrane protein, also known as 40 kDa BINP-binding protein, p40BBP, Ras-induced senescence protein 1 and HBBP/RIS1. UniProt describes it as a receptor for the synthetic 13-mer peptide brain injury-derived neurotrophic peptide (BINP), and dysregulation of the protein has been linked to cellular processes including signalling, transport and membrane dynamics, supporting its use as a biomarker in cell biology research.

Reagents are supplied with component-specific storage: the microplate, lyophilised standard, sample diluent, assay diluents and detection reagents are stored at –20 °C, while the wash buffer, substrate and stop solution are kept at 4 °C. The product is intended for research use only.
