Description

A sandwich-format ELISA from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative measurement of human Translationally-controlled tumor protein (TPT1), also referenced by the synonyms Fortilin, Histamine-releasing factor, p23, HRF, and TCTP. The kit is intended for research use only and is reactive with human samples, including serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. Specificity is reported for natural and recombinant human Translationally-controlled tumor protein, which is located in the cytoplasm and is associated with calcium binding and microtubule stabilization. The annotated research area is Epigenetics (UniProt P13693).

According to the manufacturer's specifications, the detection range is 0.312-20ng/mL with a sensitivity of 0.12ng/mL. Reported precision values are an intra-assay CV of 4.6% and an inter-assay CV of 7.9%. Linearity has been evaluated across serial dilutions in serum, EDTA plasma, and heparin plasma samples. Recovery is reported as an average of 102% (range 96-108) for serum and 104% (range 98-110) for plasma. TPT1, also known as histamine-releasing factor, is implicated in cell growth, differentiation, apoptosis, tumorigenesis, and cancer progression, making the kit a tool for studies of cancer biology and potential therapeutic targets.
