Human Transglutaminase 1, Keratinocyte (TGM1) ELISA Kit

The Assay Genie TGM1 immunoassay quantitatively measures Transglutaminase 1, a calcium-dependent enzyme also known as keratinocyte transglutaminase, in human tissue homogenates. TGM1 catalyzes isopeptide cross-linking between structural proteins such as involucrin, loricrin, and small proline-rich proteins to form the cornified envelope that maintains epidermal barrier integrity. Quantifying TGM1 levels supports research into lamellar ichthyosis, which arises from TGM1 loss-of-function mutations, as well as studies of atopic dermatitis, psoriasis, and other keratinization disorders. Each kit contains a pre-coated microplate, biotinylated detection antibody, streptavidin-HRP conjugate, lyophilized standards in sealed vials, and assay diluent. A 100 uL sample volume is loaded per well, and the chromogenic readout produces a measurable signal proportional to TGM1 concentration. The capture antibody is human-specific, with no significant cross-reactivity with the homologous TGM2, TGM3, TGM4, TGM5, and TGM7 isoforms. Reconstituted standards and detection antibody should be stored at -20°C and protected from light, while the unopened kit arrives refrigerated for immediate use.
