Human Transferrin ELISA Kit

Developed by Assay Genie, this Sandwich ELISA is intended for the quantitative measurement of transferrin in human samples, including serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. The assay uses a double-antibody format with colorimetric detection read at 450 nm, offering a sensitivity of 0.938 ng/mL across a working range of 1.563–100 ng/mL.

Transferrin is the principal iron-transport protein in the body and plays a central role in iron metabolism and homeostasis. Altered transferrin levels have been linked to iron deficiency anemia, hemochromatosis and various inflammatory disorders, making it a valuable biomarker for studying these conditions and supporting the development of potential treatments.

The kit demonstrates reliable linearity and recovery across serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma matrices. Reagents are stored at 2–8°C, where the kit remains stable for 12 months. The protocol follows a standard sandwich workflow of reagent equilibration, primary incubation, biotinylated detection antibody binding, HRP-streptavidin binding, TMB colour development, and absorbance reading at 450 nm.
