Description

An immunoassay from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative detection of human Transcriptional repressor CTCFL (CTCFL), also referred to by synonyms including BORIS, CCCTC-binding factor, CTCF paralog, CTCF-like protein, CT27, and Zinc finger protein CTCF-T [C0, S1]. The kit is configured as a sandwich ELISA [C0] and is validated for use with human serum and plasma samples [C0], with additional tested matrices including tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants, and other biological fluids [S1].

CTCFL is a testis-specific DNA binding protein involved in insulator function, nuclear architecture, transcriptional control, and epigenetic chromatin modification, playing a key role in gene imprinting in the male germline [S1]. Dysregulation of CTCFL has been associated with cancer and developmental disorders, supporting its value as a research biomarker [S1]. According to manufacturer specifications, the assay has a detection range of 0.312-20 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.19 ng/mL [S1]. Reported precision values are an intra-assay CV of 6.3% and an inter-assay CV of 11.5% [S1]. Linearity was demonstrated in serum, EDTA plasma, and heparin plasma at dilutions from 1:2 to 1:16, with recovery averaging 97% in serum (range 91-103) and 99% in plasma (range 93-105) [S1].

The kit is specific for natural and recombinant human Transcriptional repressor CTCFL and recognises the protein mapped to UniProt entry Q8NI51 [S1]. Subcellular localisation is reported as cytoplasm and nucleus, and the listed research area is epigenetics [S1]. The product is labelled for research use only [S1].
