From Assay Genie, this Sandwich ELISA is designed for the precise quantitative measurement of human Transcription factor p65 (RELA) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids, using a colorimetric detection method. The target is also known as Nuclear factor NF-kappa-B p65 subunit, Nuclear factor of kappa light polypeptide gene enhancer in B-cells 3, and NFKB3, and is associated with UniProt entry Q04206.

Reported performance characteristics include a detection range of 1.56-100ng/ml, a sensitivity of 0.89ng/mL, an intra-assay CV of 6.3% and an inter-assay CV of 9.1%. The kit is specific for natural and recombinant human Transcription factor p65. Dilution linearity was evaluated at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 (N=5 each), with ranges of 102-114%, 102-114%, 87-98% and 106-115% for serum, 90-102%, 93-102%, 101-111% and 103-113% for EDTA plasma, and 87-95%, 106-115%, 107-118% and 104-114% for heparin plasma. Spike-and-recovery gave average values of 103% for serum (range 97-109%) and 105% for plasma (range 99-111%).

p65 (RELA) is a subunit of the NF-kappa-B transcription factor complex, a pleiotropic transcription factor present in almost all cell types that acts at the endpoint of signal transduction events related to inflammation, immunity, differentiation, cell growth, tumorigenesis and apoptosis.
