GATA-4 is a conserved zinc-finger transcription factor that regulates gene expression and plays a critical role in cardiac and gut development, as well as in maintaining the function of these tissues. Dysregulation of GATA-4 has been linked to various diseases, including heart disorders and gastrointestinal conditions, making it a valuable biomarker for studying these pathological processes. According to UniProt (P43694), GATA-4 is localised to the nucleus.

Reported performance characteristics include a detection range of 0.312-20ng/mL, a sensitivity of 0.172ng/mL, an intra-assay CV of 5.8% and an inter-assay CV of 8.2%. Recovery in serum averages 95% (range 89-101%) and in plasma averages 97% (range 91-103%). For research use only.
