Human Transcription factor 21 (TCF21) ELISA Kit

An ELISA kit from Assay Genie designed for the detection of human Transcription factor 21 (TCF21) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants and other biological fluids. The kit shows specificity for the natural and recombinant forms of human TCF21 and employs a colorimetric detection method. TCF21 is a transcription factor of the basic helix-loop-helix family that is involved in epithelial-mesenchymal interactions in kidney and lung morphogenesis, including epithelial differentiation and branching morphogenesis, and may play a role in the specification or differentiation of one or more subsets of epicardial cell types. The protein localises to the nucleus, where efficient DNA binding requires dimerisation with another bHLH protein; TCF21 forms a heterodimer with TCF3 and binds the E box (5'-CANNTG-3'). The kit is for research use only and is suited to studies within the epigenetics research area.

Performance characteristics include a detection range of 0.78-50ng/mL, a sensitivity of 0.23ng/ml, an intra-assay CV of 4.1% and an inter-assay CV of 7.4%. Linearity has been evaluated in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma at dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16. Recovery is 90-102 in serum and 92-104 in plasma.
