Description

A sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative detection of human Transaldolase (TALDO1) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants and other biological fluids. The kit is described as a reliable and precise tool with high sensitivity and specificity, providing accurate and reproducible results suitable for a range of research applications.

Transaldolase is a key enzyme of the nonoxidative pentose phosphate pathway, important for the balance of metabolites, carbohydrate metabolism, and the production of NADPH. Dysregulation of transaldolase has been linked to various metabolic disorders and diseases, making it a valuable biomarker for research into these conditions. TALDO1 functions as a homodimer located in the cytoplasm (UniProt P37837), and defects in the protein are associated with transaldolase 1 deficiency.

Performance characteristics quoted by the manufacturer include a detection range of 0.156-10 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.078 ng/mL, with the readout made colorimetrically. Intra-assay CV is reported as 5.1% and inter-assay CV as 10.5%. Linearity across dilutions (1:2, 1:4, 1:8, 1:16) is shown for serum (100-113%, 94-102%, 88-97%, 107-117%), EDTA plasma (108-120%, 95-105%, 102-110%, 87-96%), and heparin plasma (96-106%, 86-98%, 108-118%, 115-115%). Recovery averages 101% (95-107%) for serum and 103% (97-109%) for plasma. The kit is for research use only.
