GATA-3, also known as GATA-binding factor 3, is a trans-acting T-cell-specific transcription factor that plays a crucial role in T-cell differentiation, maturation, and function. It acts as a transcriptional activator that binds to the enhancer of the T-cell receptor alpha and delta genes and to the consensus sequence 5'-AGATAG-3'. It is required for the T-helper 2 (Th2) differentiation process following immune and inflammatory responses, making it a significant biomarker for investigating immune-related diseases and disorders including autoimmune diseases, allergies, and immune-mediated disorders.

The kit provides a detection range of 0.312-20ng/mL with a sensitivity of 0.182ng/mL. Precision is characterised by an intra-assay CV of 3.2% and inter-assay CV of 6.1%. Linearity was demonstrated in serum, EDTA plasma, and heparin plasma across dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8, and 1:16, with recovery averaging 80% (range 80-85%) in serum and 81% (range 80-87%) in plasma.
