A quantitative immunoassay from Assay Genie provides laboratories with a tool to measure TNF-Related Apoptosis-Inducing Ligand (TRAIL/TNFSF10) in human research specimens. TRAIL is a type II transmembrane cytokine that selectively induces apoptosis in transformed and tumor cells while sparing most normal tissues, making it a focal point in oncology, immunology, and programmed cell death research.

The kit is configured for 96 determinations and arrives as a complete reagent set, including a pre-coated microplate, biotinylated detection antibody, lyophilized recombinant standards, streptavidin conjugate, substrate solution, and washing buffer. Researchers investigating cancer therapeutics, autoimmune disease mechanisms, or cytokine profiling can apply this system to quantify TRAIL in conditioned cell culture media and in human blood-derived samples collected from donors and experimental models.

The protocol follows a standard capture-antibody workflow: diluted standards and samples are loaded into the plate, incubated with detection reagent, and developed using a chromogenic substrate. A stop solution ends the enzymatic reaction, after which absorbance values are read on a standard microplate reader. Signal intensity correlates directly with TRAIL concentration, allowing interpolation against the standard curve.

For handling, unopened components should be refrigerated until first use, while reconstituted standards and prepared working solutions should be aliquoted and stored frozen to limit repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Each kit ships with a detailed protocol insert and is intended for research use only in laboratory settings.
