The assay uses the Sandwich-CLIA principle, in which a pre-coated microplate antibody captures Human tPA, followed by a biotinylated detection antibody and Avidin-HRP conjugate. The relative light unit (RLU) value measured on a chemiluminescence immunoassay analyzer is positively correlated with the concentration of Human tPA. The reported sensitivity is 75.00 pg/mL and the detection range is 125.00-8000 pg/mL, with an assay time of 4.5h and a recommended sample volume of 100μL.

The kit is positioned for research into tissue plasminogen activator as a key enzyme involved in the breakdown of blood clots and as a biomarker for cardiovascular diseases, thrombosis and related conditions. It is suitable for use with human serum, plasma and cell culture supernatants. The kit recognises Human tPA in samples, and no significant cross-reactivity or interference between Human tPA and analogues was observed.
