Human total SOD (superoxide dismutase) ELISA Kit (HUFI03482)

This Sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie is designed for the precise quantification of total SOD (superoxide dismutase) levels in human samples, including serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. Superoxide dismutase is a vital antioxidant enzyme that scavenges harmful free radicals and protects cells from oxidative stress, and imbalances in SOD levels have been associated with inflammation, aging, and neurodegenerative diseases.

The assay uses a sandwich ELISA, double antibody format with colorimetric detection, offering a sensitivity of 0.469 ng/mL and a measuring range of 0.781-50 ng/mL (10000IU/mg). Linearity across serial dilutions was demonstrated in serum (85-102% at 1:2, 83-93% at 1:4, 85-98% at 1:8), EDTA plasma (85-100%, 87-99%, 80-96%) and heparin plasma (94-105%, 86-100%, 92-99%). Recovery averages were 96% in serum, 99% in EDTA plasma and 93% in heparin plasma. The kit should be stored at 2-8°C for 12 months.
