TNF alpha (Tumor Necrosis Factor-alpha) is a 17 kDa pro-inflammatory cytokine central to acute phase responses, apoptosis signaling, and immune cell activation. Research applications span sepsis biomarker discovery, autoimmune disease profiling, inflammatory bowel disease studies, rheumatoid arthritis models, and oncology, where elevated levels often correlate with tumor microenvironment activity. As a key mediator measurable in human clinical samples, TNF alpha serves as a translational readout in cytokine release syndrome, COVID-19 severity studies, and rheumatology research.

This Assay Genie kit provides quantitative measurement across human specimen types, including cell-derived fractions, peripheral blood-derived fractions, and tissue lysates. The workflow uses a two-antibody capture format with HRP-conjugated detection and TMB substrate, supplied as a complete research-use-only reagent set in a strip-plate microplate frame. The capture antibody pair is human-specific, with no significant cross-reactivity to related cytokines within the working range.

Standards are supplied as a concentrated stock for serial dilution, and standard curve fitting is typically performed using a four-parameter logistic regression model.

Storage and handling: store unopened kit components refrigerated at 2-8 degrees C. Bring all reagents to room temperature before use, and protect the TMB substrate from light. Reconstituted standards should be aliquoted and stored frozen at -20 degrees C to limit freeze-thaw cycles. Shelf life is governed by the expiration date printed on the outer label.
