Human TMC1 ELISA Kit (HUFI06084)

The Human TMC1 ELISA Kit from Assay Genie enables quantitative measurement of Transmembrane Channel-like Protein 1 (TMC1), a six-transmembrane-domain mechanosensory ion channel localized to the stereocilia of cochlear and vestibular hair cells. Mutations in TMC1 are causally linked to autosomal dominant (DFNA36) and autosomal recessive (DFNB7/11) nonsyndromic hearing loss, making this immunoassay useful for auditory neuroscience research, otopathology biomarker studies, and investigations of hair-cell mechanotransduction.

All reagents are supplied in a sealed pouch configuration sufficient for one microplate run, with components shipped under refrigerated conditions to preserve antibody binding activity. Reconstituted standard should be aliquoted to limit repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Because TMC1 expression in human inner-ear tissue cannot be directly sampled in living subjects, this kit supports translational deafness research through quantitative detection in circulating clinical specimens.
