Human Tissue alpha -L-Fucosidase/FUCA1 ELISA Kit

This Sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie is designed for the accurate detection of alpha-L-fucosidase (FUCA1) levels in human samples. The assay is reactive with human samples and has been validated for use with serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. It runs as a colorimetric, double-antibody sandwich ELISA with a sensitivity of 0.188 ng/mL and a measuring range of 0.313-20 ng/mL. Reagents are stored at 2-8°C for 12 months.

Performance data supplied by the manufacturer include linearity across dilutions of 1:2, 1:4 and 1:8 in serum (85-100%, 83-98%, 85-96%), EDTA plasma (85-104%, 83-90%, 84-97%) and heparin plasma (87-98%, 82-101%, 82-95%), with corresponding spike-recovery averages of 92% in serum, 90% in EDTA plasma and 96% in heparin plasma. The assay procedure uses a biotin-labelled detection antibody and HRP-Streptavidin (SABC), with TMB substrate development and absorbance read at 450 nm.

Alpha-L-fucosidase is an enzyme involved in the breakdown of complex carbohydrates and glycoproteins, and plays a role in cell signalling, cell adhesion and immune response modulation. Dysregulation of the enzyme has been linked to certain genetic disorders and cancer progression, making it a useful biomarker for related research.
